The studio blog
What sort of stories are you after today?
Wop-wops, warm breezes, and cicada songs
Ah, the promise of summer. Remember when summer meant summer holidays? No school, no work, just magic? If I could bottle it, I would. Instead, I did the next best thing: I painted it.
I wrote a book!Published on .Filed in Art & creativity
I wrote a book! It’s a memoir. It’s contemporary fantasy. And, it’s epistolary (my new word of the month—it means it’s written in the form of a series of letters). It’s about changing direction, letting go of dreams, picking up new ones, and, ultimately, reconnecting with your magic and living your own story.
Literally couldn’t help but dance
I’m delighted to invite you to the 12th annual “Figurative” art exhibition at the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery! And yes, I literally did a crazy, happy dance when Light Space & Time presented their awards for this exhibition. I’m honoured to have 2 artworks receive awards and be exhibited alongside talented artists from around the world.
Happy holidays! (And if you happen to be in Raglan soon, pop into the iHub)
Thank you so, so much for being part of my artist journey this year. If you’re heading to Raglan for some sun and surf in the next month, pop into the iHub information centre, where they have a display of art by 3 Raglan artists—including moi! Happy holidays, and I shall be back next year with some bi-i-i-i-g things!!!

The antidote to overwhelm is not giving yourself MORE to do
Am I jumping the gun, or are the words “I have a cunning plan” marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this blog post? They certainly are.
Finding wonder and following the yes
Yeah, it’s pretty easy to find wonder in the South Island. But funnily enough, the moments that sparked that tingly excited feeling and made my intuition poke me in the ribs—they weren’t the things I was expecting! So, since I’m practicing saying “yes” to my intuition, this video is where I’m paying attention and following it through.
A new exhibition with a collision of style and colour
Just popping in to let you know about a new exhibition starting soon. Called Collidescope, it’s our annual Raglan Art exhibition, featuring 16 artists and “a collision of style and colour”.
A year of visual poetryPublished on .Filed in Country life
Welcome to my year-long visual poetry project. Here are four seasons of creativity—just me, my camera, and a LOT of animal noses out and about on the farm.
